Show Me Your Data! – Data Management Workshop

February 17, 2017 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm UTC+0

Show Me Your Data!

17 February, 10:30-12 noon, SS6032 (Art Dept. seminar room)

Inspired by “Love Your Data Week,” to be held virtually and internationally from 13-17 February (https://loveyourdata.wordpress.com/), let’s meet for an informal roundtable to discuss some of the unique challenges that art historians face when working with data. Graduate students, faculty, and postdocs alike are welcome for this short, exploratory discussion of data big and small and how to manage it. Please bring your laptops and any necessary attachments (I’ll have a MacBook Pro dongle) for a hands-on session where we share how we collect, organize, and store our images, texts, and other materials, learn from one another about tips and tricks for curating art historical information, and investigate ways in which we can better care for our data.

If you have any questions, please email me at jacquelyn.clements@utoronto.ca
