Current Research
  • My doctoral work focuses on the intersection of the global textile trade, fashion, and photography around the turn of the nineteenth century in Mombasa, Kenya. I am particularly interested in the visual regimes produced through consumerism, translation, and the new subjectivities that emerged as a result.
