PhD Student Contributes to Important Exhibition Catalogue on Degas

The department extends its congratulations to PhD Candidate Aleksandra Bursac for her contribution to a recent exhibtion catalogue at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Her essay, entitled “Idyll to Industry: Infrastructures of Cleanliness in Nineteenth-Century France," has been included the Degas and the Laundress: Women, Work and Impressionism exhibition catalogue. This essay builds on her PhD research on Degas and laundresses. The exhibition is now open at the Cleveland Museum of Art and runs until January 14, 2024

This year Aleksandra is at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles as a graduate intern in the Curatorial Department of Paintings. This prestigious full-time year-long internship provides graduate students with training and work experience in the museum.
